Steps and ladders: how you get into the pool

The way into the pool shapes how you use it. Wide steps become seating; a stainless ladder keeps all the space for swimming.

Full-width steps

Like a small amphitheatre at one end of the pool. You sit, children play, older people get in easily. They need a little more pool length, since they take water away from swimming.

Corner steps

A triangular or rectangular step in one corner. It keeps most of the pool free and works well in small pools.

Stainless ladder

The simplest option: a stainless steel ladder fixed into the paving around the pool. It takes no space in the water. We often add one opposite the steps.

How they are built in a prefab pool

Steps are set inside the frame before the liner, and the liner covers them like the rest of the interior. There are no joints between different materials for water to get into. On the edges we use anti-slip liner or a contrasting strip so each step is visible underwater.
