Every week
- Test pH and chlorine with strips or a digital tester.
- Empty the skimmer baskets and pump strainer.
- Vacuum the floor, or let the robot do it.
- Backwash the filter if the pressure has risen.
- Check the level: top up if it is below the middle of the skimmer.
Water chemistry, simply
pH comes first. If it is high, chlorine works poorly; if it is low, it wears the liner and metal parts. Keep it at 7.2–7.6, then adjust chlorine. With salt chlorination and automatic pH, most of this happens by itself.
The liner
Clean it with a soft brush. The waterline collects oils from sun cream; a liner cleaner removes them. No wire brushes, no solvents.
Once a year
Check the pump and seals, descale the salt cell, change the filter media when needed (sand every few years, glass less often) and get ready for winter.
