Build time: from the first call to the first swim

The work on site is the quickest part. Most of the time goes on paperwork and on the spring queue.

Where the time goes

  1. Survey and proposal. One or two weeks from first contact.
  2. Approval. Depends on the file and the office; usually the longest part.
  3. Materials. Panels, liner and equipment are ordered while the approval runs.
  4. Work on site. From digging to filling, a few weeks for a typical pool.
  5. Surround. Coping, decking, planting: in parallel or straight after.

What causes delays

  • Rock in the excavation that did not show.
  • Rain while digging.
  • Access: narrow lanes, steps, ferries to islands.
  • Design changes after materials are ordered.

How to be ready for summer

Start in autumn or winter. We have more time then, the approval runs without pressure and the pool is built in spring, before the heat. People who call us in June usually swim in August, or the following year.
