Prefab pool questions and answers
The questions we hear most on the phone and on site visits, with short answers and links for anyone who wants more.
Questions and answers
What is a prefab pool?
A permanent pool with walls of galvanised steel panels, lined inside with a watertight PVC liner. The parts are made in a factory and assembled on site.
How long does it last?
The frame lasts decades. The liner has a 10-year written warranty and is replaced without touching the frame.
Do I need a permit?
For a pool up to 50 m² a small-scale works approval filed by an engineer is usually enough. Larger or special cases need a permit.
How quickly is it built?
Work on site takes a few weeks. Most of the time goes on the approval.
How much does it cost?
The price is given on request, in writing, after a site survey, because it depends on size, system, equipment and site.
Skimmer or overflow?
A skimmer pool is simpler and cheaper to run. An overflow pool has water level with the paving and a mirror finish.
Which liner colour should I choose?
White for turquoise water, sand for a natural look, grey or charcoal for deep blue. We bring samples to your site.
Do we drain the pool in winter?
No. A liner pool stays full. We lower the level slightly if frost is likely and fit a cover.
How much maintenance does it need?
About half an hour a week: pH and chlorine tests, skimmer baskets, vacuuming, backwashing.
Do you build on the islands?
Yes. We have projects on Limnos, Mykonos, Rhodes, Corfu and Salamina.
Do you replace liners in old pools?
Yes, including pools by other builders, once we have seen the frame and profile.
Do you speak English?
Yes. Many of our clients live abroad and we talk in English by phone, email or WhatsApp.
